Mnuchin: No assembly deliberate between Trump & Iran’s Rouhani

WASHINGTON (AP) – U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin (mih-NOO’-shin) says President Donald Trump has no plans to fulfill vith Iranian President Hassan Rouhani (hah-SAHN’ roh-HAH’-nee) whereas he’s in New York for the United Nations Common Meeting later this month.

Mnuchin stated Thursday that such a gathering is “not planned at the moment,” despite the fact that Trump has made clear “he would sit down with Rouhani with no condition” to debate Iran’s nuclear program.

Mnuchin additionally insists that the latest departure of former nationwide safety adviser John Bolton is not going to dramatically change the Trump administration’s posture on Iran. He says he & Secretary of State Mike Pompeo (pahm-PAY’-oh) “have been executing the president’s maximum pressure campaign” so there’s no “sea change.”

Bolton was a hardliner on Iran who was skeptical of engagement.
